The Throne further cements its royal position within the industry as Jay-Z and Kanye West unveil the official video to their single “Otis.” As previously reported, famed director Spike Jonze created an epic visual filled with fireworks, fist bumps, a fast car and what not in order to emphasize and general larger-than-life status of both rappers. Subtly swaggadocious.
More news and confirmation surrounding Kanye West and Jay-Z’s highly anticipated collaborative project emerges. According to an official press release, the release date for the album has changed. Now, the LP will arrive on iTunes August 8 and will hit stores August 8th/12th. In order to grace this release properly, the duo – now known as The Throne – have announced tour dates for this fall. After going bananas with his friends in one take, Bruno Mars serves an entertaining alternate version of “The Lazy Song” music video. Instead of taking action in front of the lenses, the crooner passes the spot to famed actor Leonard Nimoy aka Star Trek‘s original Mr. Spock. Raekwon – Snake Pond (Video)
Legendary NYC spitter Raekwon debuts the video for “Snake Pond,” his latest single off Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang. Gritty and violent, with the trademark Wu-Tang martial arts inflection, the video follows Raekwon as he seeks revenge on a presumable enemy in a dark urban environment. A winning combination of Tarantino and Notorious B.I.G., ”Snake Pond” may not be for everyone – but it’s classic Raekwon.
