adidas Originals B-Sides Launch Recap

New from Berlin-based shop No74 comes images from their highly-anticipated adidas Originals B-Sides launch event, as well as some commemorative posters featuring the BAPE Superstar, ideal for both those who couldn’t scoop up the shoe in time and those who’d like a constant reminder of their ownership alike. It looks like No47 had quite the line outside their shop upon the B-Sides’ release, with European adidas fans flaunting their favorite kicks, relaxing and anticipating what was to come before the store opened its doors. Although the shoes are long gone, some of the posters (which were produced alongside Sneaker Freaker) might still be hanging around the shop.

ZEVS Solo Exhibition @ Art Statements Tokyo

ZEVS’s first solo exhibition in Tokyo at Art Statements will be held in two floors and will develop two distinctive themes, having, though, some common and bridging elements. Putting back ZEVS’s original concept in the middle of his work seems essential to recenter the analysis and understanding of its real meaning rather than focusing on its esthetic. For ZEVS, liquidating logos (chosen amongst the most powerful brands, leaders of their consumption fields: sport, food, fashion, etc.) was never a frontal attack on their power or against consumerism. The persuasion power that these brands hold is what fascinates ZEVS. His centers of analysis have therefore always been humans and their ongoing confrontation with temptations – seduction acts from brands – in the city, in public spaces, and against which they fight… or not. This exhibition opens on September 2, 2011, running through the end of the month.

SUPRA NYC Store Opening

The practice of lining up for shoes outside the store on the sidewalk in the wee hours of the morning hasn’t occurred in some time, but it was alive and well at the opening of the brand new SUPRA NYC store located at 4 Prince St. in the heart of SoHo. People started camping out shortly after 3 a.m. the night before and, by opening, the line of fans stretched all the way down the block. And for good reason: the brand new, 850-square-foot location offers U.S. consumers, for the first time ever, the ability to experience the full breadth of the SUPRA line of products all in one place. It’s more than just a shoe store because inside the beautifully designed space, the brand’s signature advertising campaign comes to life. The legendary line of shoes, hats and shirts are elegantly displayed in the distinctive environment the brand is known for creating: black mirrors, dark woods and infinite backdrops. SUPRA NYC also features exclusive New York related product, such as T-shirts and the new NYC Vaider.

GoPro HD: Skateboarding Bucky Lasek’s Backyard Bowl

GoPro recently caught up with professional skateboarders Bucky Lasek and Andy MacDonald. As the two were riding through the bowl that Lasek has set up in his own backyard, they thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test out GoPro’s new HD Hero camera. Strapping the devices onto everything they could (including the undercarriage of their skateboard decks), the two were able to capture some great footage. Check it out for yourselves.

Seoul Trick Jam

Fixed gear bikes have grown exponentially in Asia over the last few years. Becoming a common sight among many of the big metropolitan areas as well as tier two cities, the South Korean capital of Seoul recently hosted its 2011 Trick Jam competition. A video by LOWANGLEWORKS together with Yong Min Kim and Jae Hyeok Lee does a great job of capturing the raucous crowd with some slow motion cinematographic effects.
