8 Hours in Brooklyn

“8 Hours in Brooklyn” is Next Level Pictures’ latest video presentation. Simply shot with a Phantom Flex camera (you know the 1,000,000 fps camera) , the concept behind the video was to document whatever the group could find in Brooklyn, New York during an eight hour time span. The result is this artistic video featuring skateboarders, break dancers, basketball players and more in stunning slow motion shots. Parts of the video are expected to be used for Next Level Pictures’ upcoming new series sometime in near the new future. Enjoy!

Phantom v1610 1,000,000 fps Camera

Vision Research’s new “Phantom v1610″ isn’t particularly attractive, nor is it as trendy an accessory as some other, better-designed cameras can be marketed as. It has only one draw, and what a draw that is: this camera can shoot up to one million frames per second. That’s right, per second. Calling this fast is an understatement. Although resolution won’t be particularly sharp and the memory fills up in a little under 5 seconds (keep in mind, that’s nearly 5 million pictures), the Phantom is bound to become the next major tool in slow-motion videography. Just imagine the kind of projects that an artist could complete with technology this powerful at their disposal. Although no release date or price have been announced yet, somehow we doubt that it’s going to be affordable.

LA Light by Colin Rich

Colin Rich looked to capture the “electric radiance” of Los Angeles through a beautifully shot time-lapse video seen here. It took approximately six months to acquire the necessary clips which came with great difficulty as Homeland Security was a thorn in the side during the shooting process. The footage was captured via Canon 5D Mark II and 7D cameras together with Zeiss and Canon lenses, and custom hardware.
