Project X Designs Custom Double Red Rolex Submariner

Although a good portion of customs go awry, these latest two from timepiece customizers Project X Designs are nothing short of impressive. Working with Rolex’s classic Submariner, Project X created two custom “Double Red” watches, the PXD SS2 and PXD SS3, each offering its own set of high end features. Specs for the SS2 include: a DLC coating on a brand new ref 16610LV Rolex, black lume dot, crown removal, double red text, spring loaded fixed bars, and an enamel, engraved caseback. The SS3 features maxi dial customization, satin case finish, a black lume pearl dot, cyclops removal, double red text, spring loaded fixed bars, individually numbered case backs, and a G10 NATO. Like the SS2, this watch is based on a BNIB ref 16610LV Rolex Submariner. Both are offered in a limited run of 24 units per. Further information is available here.

In a bit of an unforeseen team-up of two respected French brands, sports label LACOSTE and carmakers CITROËN take part in the design of a new compact concept car. The overall design of the car features much in the form of carefully considered design that play to the strengths of LACOSTE as a sports-mind brand. The hope is to push the envelope of car design without sacrificing motoring quality. Ultimately the design includes a customizable aspect to it with a revolutionary inflatable soft-roofing system.

TAG Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph Retro

TAG Heuer unveil a special re-release of one of their vintage models, the Monaco Vintage Chronograph. Originally released in 1973, the model comes on the heels of a 40th anniversary Monaco model originally seen last year. However, this time around the watch features a charcoal stainless steel case and priced at half of 40th anniversary model. The watch is limited to 1,860 pieces with a suggested retail price of $5,200 USD.

Toshiba REGZA 3D TV

Toshiba unveil the world’s first LCD TVs that offer comprehensive 3D capabilities without any need for dedicated glasses. The new “Glasses-less 3D REGZA GL1″ series offers two models with screen sizes specifically designed for personal use: the 20-inch 20GL1 and the 12-inch 12GL1. Both TVs will be available in Japan from the end of December 2010. The new 3D TVs with no need for glasses employ an integral imaging system and a perpendicular lenticular sheet to display smooth, natural images, and Toshiba’s image processing technology to create nine parallax images from the original content and create to 3D images. The result is precise rendering of high quality 3D images whatever the viewing angle within the viewing zone.

Rip Curl Mirage 2 Boardshort Video

Since the original scene in the Matrix involving “bullet time”, the stunning approach to visuals has become an appealing way of showcasing movement and speed. Rip Curl took to a Malaysian wavepool to create the effect to highlight their Mirage 2 boardshoot. As surfers were towed in by a Jetski, a 52-camera set-up involving Canon 5D Mark IIs captured all the scenes.

San Francisco: The Miniature City is a special look into one America’s most interesting cities. Post-processed to create the tilt-shift or “miniature” effect, the tour of San Francisco uncovers many of the West Coast city’s most iconic landmarks as well as peering into everyday life. While the video draws immediate comparisons to The Sand Pit which focused on New York City, the overview of San Francisco is still a much different landscape. The video was created by Shukhrat Pardaev of MINIMUS DESIGN.
